BARLOWORLD GLC
VWV was tasked to create an event where global leaders across Barloworld would gather under the African sun, to be inspired, to see, to explore and to share ideas and opportunities that ‘defy limits’ and participate in Barloworld’s shared future.
VWV brought the ‘Defy Limits’ theme to life by staging the official event opening with an enthralling performance by Tracey-Lee Oliver rising 3m in the air singing Gravity, supported by a spectacular laser display over the Valley of Waves. The Sun City Superbowl was fully transformed into a stadium with raked seating and immense 24mx7m moving screens and immersive projection set.
The expansive screens opened during the first tea break to reveal an open-plan interactive area that catered for exhibition, food and barista zones. Experiences included Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Interactive ping-pong, pin ball and refreshment-ordering touch-screen tables with Barloworld-specific narrative content.
Barloworld speaker presentations and videos were all VWV produced to maximise the impact of the large projection surfaces to embed the ‘defy limits’ theme and ‘rise as one’ narrative of the conference.
The two days of conference were facilitated by the erudite Azania Mosaka and delegates were highly impressed by a ‘defy limits’ talk by international speaker Kevin Gaskell.
The final day of conference culminated in stylish jazz-styled dinner club with an extensive entertainment line-up, featuring a 3-piece horn band, Zweli, The Muffinz with Mariechan, Shekinah and a troupe of dancers.
The Barloworld GLC was a resounding success and an ‘unforgettable’ conference. Importantly, a foundation was laid for communicating further to the rest of the Barloworld organisation with a leadership team that has experienced the narrative and content in the most spectacular and memorable way.
